The phenomenon about the communication behavior of Javanese ethnic traders to prospective buyers at Manonda market, Palu has its own meaning and message because it contains variations in practices based on cultural values habits that are still inherent a trader. These have an effect itself buyers. purpose this study is determine caused by expressions (speech acts) This used descriptive-qualitative method taking 5 (five) as informants who trade market ,Palu. informants‟ criteria been previously determined using purposive sampling. Collecting data through participatory observation, interviews, listening, note-taking. results revealed expressed more connotative, poetic, metaphorical, ambiguous. expression form euphemism – polite meaning, not too sharp but aim disguise true meaning. often express high context culture
